This is how I spent my New Years Eve, so whether you didn't hear about it, couldn't make it, or you have fond memories of that night, one hour of my DJ set has been immortalized in Podland.

Its not my most precise mixtape ever, but its a live party, all vinyl DJ set and the vibe is undeniable.

The quality of the download is greater than the quality of the internet playback, so its recommended that you either download from the website, or subscribe to the podcast via itunes.

Here is the link to subscribe with itunes:
Thanks to everyone who made this possible.

His new album, From Brooklyn to SF, is set to blow minds across the globe. It is a journey through Dread Bass, dub/dubstep, hip hop and desi inflected digi dancehall , featuring several of the most adventurous vocalists and musicians in North America. From the deep meditative dub of Seed Halfi Grow to the full on dancefloor bass weight of Spread the Word, the album redefines the musical landscape. Kush has shared the bill with Dr. Isreal, Sf's Dhamaal Soundsystem, opened for Theivery Corp, and regularly plays the 10 year long running Dub Mission in San Francisco. Currently he holds a monthly residency at Surya Dub located at SF's Club 6 with contemporaries forging the Dread Bass movement internationally and will be performing his signature dubwise live PA set at Sub Swara alongside SS's own MC Juakali.
Tao Jones - Speed Limit Hiphop Sampler

Tao Jones - Speed Limit Hiphop Sampler

www.thephatconductor.com/TaoJones-SpeedLimit.mp3

This promo mixset is a sampler of the slower stuff I like to play as Tao Jones. It's basically a condensed version of the hour and a half to two hours I normally play. It starts off all chunky and hiphop, gets glitchy, rages it, catches it's breath, and then get's all wobbly in the low end. The last track I probably wouldn't play at an event unless it was really appropriate, but it's one of my favourite songs ever so I thought I'd share it with you.

If you like the music on this set, please support the artists by buying their music and going to their shows.

Thanks and props go out to ana sia, lorin, the glitch mob, and sean conlon, who did shut em down with me.

Much love

Putting Phoenix on the Breakbeat Map!

Hi wonderful music lovers! I'm Ben, and I love breaks.

We just started a new weekly breaks night in the Phoenix, AZ area. This Tuesday (02/27) will be our second night. We tripled the bar's income on our first night 2 weeks ago, and we plan on keeping that happening.

If any of you kind folks are in the Phoenix Metro area (Tempe, near ASU) on a Tuesday, please drop in and say hello. If you want to spin some breaks, let me know and we'll sort out the details. Right now we aren't getting paid (other than in what we can drink), but when we prove ourselves (and the bar starts making decent money) we'll have some cash to play with.

So yeah, if you or your friends are coming through Phoenix on a Tuesday, shoot me a line!

Details:
The Salacious Beat Slingers present:
"A Case of the Tuesdays"
Every Tuesday at Fat Tuesday
680 S. Mill Ave
Tempe, AZ 85281
9pm-close (last call is at ~1:30 in AZ)
21+
No Cover
$2 drinks all night long (Frozen Daquiris, domestic bottles, well drinks)

Undecided / Santa Fe - ReMex Vol 01
Record Label: SANGO MUSIC
Release Date: Feb/25/2007
Catalog Number: SM-002
Distributed by: Load Media UK
Preview: www.junodownload.com/labels/Sango

01. Undecided - Heavy Cargo (Neztic remix)
02. Santa Fe - Tunel (Neztic remix)

01.Undecided - Heavy Cargo (Digital Release)
02. Santa Fe - Iguana's Theme (Digital Release)

Undecided, a.k.a. Chris Shelton, was captivated by the scene in early 1998 and since then has been cultivating his own style of funky, hard-hitting breaks referred to as that nu-funk sound. In September 2005 Undecided and production partner Kiro had their debut release “Obsessive Nature” signed by the popular UK record Label MOB, receiving support by all the breakbeat big names.

This is Undecided’s debut release for Sango Music, a powerful and aggressive piece of breakbeat filled with athmospherics, deep bass tones and interesting synth works that will keep the floor moving, this is a whole new step for the Sango label and we’re very proud of it.

As a perfect companion for Heavy Cargo, we present a new exclusive production by the Mexican duo Santa Fe, “Iguana’s Theme” is all about old school beats, warm melodies and strong basslines. An interesting track to let us hear some of the exciting sounds of Santa Fe.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
What's been said so far:

Ben & Lex (Ape Music / Functional)
I'm fuckin lovin the sango 002, exactly what we like, nice funky/dark Dancefloor bizness but with musicality and brainstop, fuckin dollar.

Plaza de Funk (West / Mantra Breaks)
Heavy Cargo is fantastic, it's good to see that some producers dare to do something different! Neztic and the label have very quickly established a very personal sound, I'm sure both are set for great things. Big release!

Karton (Sound Of Habib / S.N.S.)
As always Neztics production on both is top shelf. Heavy Cargo is a perfect mid-set roller where as Tunel is one for the late night crew. Both are big tunes and Sango is looking to have a big year if they keep dropping heat like this.

Kickflip (Fat! / Beat Industries)
New release is sounding cool, good work once again! The Tunel remix is my favourite, but only just, they're both wicked tunes, and a good follow up to the first release!

Jonny Strinati (Splank Records / Groove Allegiance)
Really diggin your new release, as I was the last one with the Groove Diggerz remix. Both tracks here are really driving, with brilliant drum programming ... Not so keen on the lead guitar sounds, but other than that two strong tracks that'll surely work a sweat up on many floors.

Dj support by Rennie Pilgrem, Ben n Lex, Karton, Andrea Lai and more.

BFM004 Presents: REKTCHORDZ – ‘Bass Pressure’ w/ WAVEWHORE Remix

BREAKS FM PRESENTS:

Rektchordz - A. “Bass Pressure”
Rektchordz - AA.“Bass Pressure” (Wavewhore Remix)

Release Date: OCTOBER 2006

BFM004. Distributed by Z Audio.

Pioneering and four-time award winning breakbeat radio station BreaksFM (www.breaksfm.com) proudly presents: Rektchordz – “Bass Pressure”

Side A – Bass Pressure. Rektchordz returns again to BreaksFM with this beast of a tune. Following on from “Lojack” (BFM001 – SOLD OUT!) and his remix of Cereal Killaz “Reality” (BFM003 - in the shops now!). Rektchordz’ reputation has been growing steadily since the start of the year, both on his own and alongside his brother (D-Ranged) as part of the excellent IF:IM. With releases on Downbeat, Trans:verse, Bombtraxx as well as BreaksFM, Rektchordz has been a pretty busy this year and he doesn’t look like stopping for a rest any time soon! Bass Pressure may have been named after the one of the massive breaks events in Spain and with good reason! This is dirty festival bassline music. This is music for people who want to have it large. Dirty stomping basslines and a beat so militant it will probably be considered dangerous to the fabric of society as we know it, form the core of this tune. Throw in some especially paranoid samples and you have a cocktail so potent it’s sure to get any raving going crazy.

Side AA – Wavewhore Remix. Based in Manhattan and the driving force behind many of the best breakbeat events in New York, Wavewhore’s reputation has been growing steadily since his first release on Electrofly titled “Breakin’ the Law”. Since then, he’s released “Funk Pill” featuring vocals from Bex Riley on the Breakspoll award winning Broke imprint and is due to drop another bomb titled “This Is How It Should Be Done” again through those cheeky Broke boys. In addition, his Monday evening show on BreaksFM (‘The Audio Tactics Sessions’) has been building quite the audience. When BreaksFM approached him for a remix we expected something “funky”, but what we didn’t expect was the sheer size of this remix. This is a HUGE REMIX! Sounding like the Breakfasterz at their finest, Wavewhore updates the original with extra synths and smoothes down the edges. This remix has been getting plays all the way across the breakbeat scene, from funky to bassline producers alike.

"I f*cking love this tune... really good stuff mate" - Jezbot of The Autobots

"Just gave this a listen - It sounds real fat and I'm burning it for the next gig!" - Dave Aquasky

HYPER

Hyper (aka Guy Hatfield) is a man with a mission. Heralded as the new breakbeat leader of the pack and the hardest workingman in the UK dance scene, he continues to turn heads and push boundaries to great acclaim. Hyper's pioneering Y3K compilation albums secured his name in the dance scene as one to watch and spawned many copycat breakbeat albums. Guy went on to surpass expectations with his world-renowned Bedrock Breaks CD's and can lay claim to the biggest selling full price breakbeat comps to date.

Hyper's unique DJ sets, sliding between genres, have earned him the respect of fellow pioneers, Paul Oakenfold, John Digweed, Timo Maas and BT (who lists him as one of his favourite DJ's). Through shear hard work and over the last few years Guy has also achieved one of his main aims in taking breakbeat from a backroom stalwart to a main room attraction blowing away many larger (and higher paid) jocks worldwide who commit to a more limited sound. He regularly is asked to guest mix on BBC Radio 1 for DJ's Annie Nightingale, Seb Fontaine and Fergie. Hyper frequently tours Stateside where he is considered as one of the scenes leading lights. He is a popular and frequent guest at the US' largest clubs Spundae and Buzz. All this activity and profile lead to Hyper being chosen as the support DJ for breakbeats biggest band, The Crystal Method on tour in the USA in spring
'04.

In the studio Guy has been writing his much anticipated debut artist album. Recent releases on Timo Maas' label 4:20 Recordings have proven a successful teaser of what1s to come. Guy's production style contains the strong elements and main room crossover one has come to expect from is dance floor filling remixes. He has built on the notoriety of his mix (now a Breakbeat anthem) of 2001's biggest track 'Addicted To Bass', and other charting acts Filter and Joy Kitikonti. Hyper's popular remix of Terminalhead was also chosen for a Radio 1 TV ad campaign.

Recently Guy has also collaborated with some of his favourite producers General Midi, Uberzone, Rui Da Silva and John Ross (one time production partner of both Sasha and BT), the results are groundbreaking. Some genuinely great club remixes and productions have naturally attracted the attention of major labels and artist seeking to find a credible remixer for use on their artist forthcoming releases. Hyper first major label remix came for Pink 'Trouble' and 'God Is A DJ', remixed to such a high standard that Pink herself has asked that he be considered for remix duty on all her future singles. Also this year Hyper has remixed Sugababes, Paul Van Dyk, Sarah McLauchlane, The Crystal Method and BT.

Hyper also runs his own successful breaks label Kilowatt. Artists signed to the label include Terminalhead, Stir Fry, Flatliners, General Midi, False Prophet and MobileGazer. Hyper is one of the best technical DJ's in breakbeat, expect much more from him and expect your expectations to be surpassed.

The Next Installment. Takin it from the Old School, to the Funk, to The Nu Skool. Come check out one of Florida's most renowned and consistent Producers and DJ's, Brad Smith.

If you've never heard his literally famous, "Return to Ibiza", then you must have been listening to Country Music or something as it smashed the Florida Dance Music scene and every other scene all to pieces.

If that's not enough, as Mr. Smith, he has mashed up all the favorites like Sarah McLachlan, Tori Amos, on and on and on...If you have heard these remixed over breaks, it's highly likely it's from Brad.

Oh yeah and he's got like 100 or so other tracks spread across every Breaks DJ's Rack o' Vinyl and they seem to keep on coming!

Check out the flyer...see ya there!

The Sub Swara Crew sends massive respect to all of you who came out and ram-jammed the spot and created a truly epic and ground-breaking night at the last edition of SS! From the return of Navdeep, to the Floor stomping ruckus of Bobby Friction and Nihal, to the booty bomb breaks of Deekline, to the next level Skipij sound of State of Bengal, it was a night to remember all around. Check out some of the pics from the event in the photo gallery (www.subswara.tribe.net/photos) -- if anyone has more, we'd love to see them! Mad respect to to all the crews, communities, friends, and family who came together.

Sub Swara::008 will feature London's award-winning Bhangra-Breaks pioneer and the mastermind behind the global smash, Desi-Rock -- SWAMI. We'll also have one of South Asia's top DJs (in fact, India's DMC World Champion) and the producer behind the mega-hit, Flute Fantasy -- DJ NASHA, bringing his raag n' taal infused breakbeat wizardy to the 1s and 2s. Comin' atcha from London, Mumbai, and NYC and beyond, Sub Swara 008 drops Thursday April 13th.

Downbeat007 IF:IM - Clown / D-RANGED - Ambitions Of A Ghost

Downbeat pulls the hammer back and locks in new artists D-ranged & IF:IM for their latest relese on wax. These two cut's are packed with elements of emotion & filth which will no doubt pack any floor!

A:/IF:IM FT DEAN FOREST - CLOWNS

This tune is by far one of the most innovative pieces of music we've come across in a while! A steady ride of drumms & smooth pads open the intro nicely. As it goes along, it builds into some guitar riffs and cut up vox. The breakdown enters and the emotion of the vocals take your mind away until you hear the build up of the bass and you know it's coming! The body drops and it's a full-on assault of gritty bassline madness complete with cut up vocals and synth lines that'll wake the dead. The body moves into a section of guitar riffs and choppy drums which adds more emotion before the 2nd drop comes knockin at ya door. During the down time of the tune, you will be placed back into that trance like state due to the emotional aspect the vocals give off. But wait, cause you'll be back in it when the bass drops in, covering your eardrums like wax. This tune is the first of its kind in breakbeat with its fresh ideas and solid production work!

AA:/D-RANGED - AMBITIONS OF A GHOST

Starting off in the intro, you'll have a solid drum pattern with a ride of piano work going along together. Warm synth lines come & go until you reach the breakdown. The main vox comes in and a wall of bass starts to rumble, bang you into the body and it's a bruiser for sure. Complete with throbbing patterns of bass frequencies that'll push any speaker to the max, you know it's peak time business!! A turn around comes in smoothly and a new section of the tune is born. Bleeps and squeaks come rushing in to give even more movement until the emotional ride takes you into the 2nd breakdown. Building back up, you know it's gunna drop like a piano from the 40th floor to the pavement. Crushing ear drumms and bringing back the heavy vibes as the tune rides along to the outro. This one is not just aimed, but hitting squarely on the dancfloor!

Downbeat 006 - Eskmo -

Eskmo has been crafting his own style in the breakbeat scene for a while now. He has stepped up his production work with these new cuts of serious, no messing around, straight-to-the-floor, solid approach on music.

A: Only A Few
Nice solid kick drums and an ambience in the intro that'll soon become madness. This one's a filthy number of wobbly bass ridden goodness. Complete with hip-hop samples and a changing bass frequencey throughout the track. You can be sure that it'll get the floors moving! Big Bass work, fast paced drums & sequenced a bit different than most tracks. This tune comes written with fresh ideas! There's no second breakdown but in its place, a quick pause of the main title, then a new switch up of bass, and distorted sounds added in for the ride out. Great vibe to this one! It's been causing a lot of talk and movement in the clubs lately. Deffinately one for the main rooms!!

AA: Forces of Spirit
If you like your tunes to build, then look no further cause this one is a serious piece of musical progression. The intro kicks off with high hats, sharp building drums for a clean mix and then drops into a scientific message breakdown that only Eskmo can bring forth. Boom! The body drops, it's a wall of thumping bass pulsing through pushing the track foward into proggression. The tune keeps growing and growing with bass work and drum edits until it yet again, becomes something new before the second breakdown. Half step tempo and bass menacing sounds rumble throughout until the flood gates open. The last section of this one is a frenzy of tearout sounding bass and electroid madness that'll get your blood flowing for sure! This ones user friendly and has a very mature sound for all ears.

Fresh off Freekin' the Ultra, the Sub Swara crew is back in effect this Thursday at the Sully and with some very special guests...

Thursday October 13 -- Sub Swara 004 -- Sullivan Room NYC
www.subswara.com

Featuring Special Guests:
Zakhm (Kollektiv, Mutiny)
Siraiki (Mutiny, Sound Mongrel)

Sub Swara is proud to welcome two artists who were instrumental in laying the revolutionary foundation of the Asian Underground Scene in New York. Zakhm and Siraiki were both residents (and Siraiki the co-founder) of the legendary Mutiny club night and continue to break new ground and blaze brilliant artistic paths worldwide.

Now a resident at Kollektiv (also featuring Karsh Kale, Janaka Selekta, DK aka Bollygirl NYC, and Dimmsummer), Zakhm is pushing groundbreaking world electronica sounds nationwide with Kollektiv residencies in New York, Washington D.C., San Diego, and Chicago. Alongside Karsh Kale, the MIDIval Punditz, and DJ Cheb i Sabbah, Zakhm was also a core member of the Asian Massive Tour, whose companion album (on Six Degrees Records) featured Zakhm's floor stomping burner, Insaan.

Siraiki launched the sound of the Asian Underground in NYC in 1997 with the Mutiny Club Night, whose residents included DJ Rekha, Navdeep, Zakhm, and Anju. He is also an accomplished filmmaker, whose incendiary film, Mutiny: Asians Storm British Music, documents the rise of South Asian Electronic Music and its indelible socio-political impact in the UK during the 1990s.

Don't miss this rare opportunity to see these two visionary artists hit the decks on the same night at Sub Swara 004. SS residents Dhruva, Sunder, and Haj will be holding things down as usual. Keep it locked!

OCTOBER 7th BASSNECTAR CD RELEASE PARTY - Please forward!

NYC Oct. 7th- Freek Factory and Disorient present
“Freeking The Ultra” a celebration of Bassnectar’s
anticipated double disc release Mesmerizing The Ultra.

The Brooklyn-based up-and-coming production team Freek Factory
hosts the NYC return of Bassnectar (Lorin Ashton) on Oct.
7th, joined by an international and bi-coastal cadre of
dance floor destroyers, for an epic affair celebrating the
release of his double CD tour de force.

From undulating midtempo beats to cut up hyp-hop; driving
breakbeat to sultry downtempo, angelic melodics meet
bassline perversion on Mesmerizing the Ultra. Stellar
production coincides with a strong political awareness;
demonstrating an unwavering dedication to underground
subversion. The list of collaborators and remixes on the
album include Freq Nasty, Buckethead, KRS One, Mumia Abu
Jamal, Noam Chomsky, STS9, Kraddy, Sayr and Kang from the
String Cheese Incident as well as a host of talented
underground MCs and producers. Freek Factory is proud to host the official New York City debut of this exciting new material.

In their outlandish freak style and for one night only,
the Freek Factory posse will transform 251 West 30th
Street (formerly Downtime) into a heathen’s den of
outerworldly delights. Resident creatrix Sequoia
Emmanuelle will add her vaunted space beautification
skills to the effort. Tiggrrr Fearless and the ever vital Freek
Factory Dancers will be afoot to aid in the instigation
of delightful madness, shrouded in the crafted couture of
Boring Inc. and the radical hair creations of Dana Divine.

Freshly back from Black Rock City, Nevada, Disorient will add
a Glam-tech sensibility to the production as only they
can, bending your perceptions with inflatables and things
that go blink in the night. SF based visual artist Satsi
will send the event into orbit with his mind-altering
optical magic.

Joining Bassnectar on the main floor is very special guest The All Good Funk Alliance, championing the Nu-Funk sound emerging from D.C. and presently making big waves amongst the global beat cognoscenti.
Resident FF DJs Haj, Sunder, JP001 and Spyro Sound System (Live
PA) will all be on hand, along with other special guest DJs Rhythmystic, The Bass, Orion, Wavewhore, and Sean Infinitee. AtoMicDoG, Zapper and The Drop In Posse (France) will be performing very special live PA sets as well. (The DIP will be collecting donations of clothes and
non-perishable food for Central American children which
they will distribute directly later in their tour).

Join us for this epic and historic night of “Freeking The
Ultra”.

Local illustruous writer and scene-scoper Mark B writes up a nice article about the origins of Dhamaal and the Dhamaal movement in the noise section of the SF Bay Guardian this week.

Really nice to see that S. Asian and World Electronica Breakbeat music is being recognized and actually covered in the mainstream press. Thanks to all the Dhamaal crew and those in the SF music community and beyond that have contibuted to us moving forward!
(Finger Lickin'/Botchit & Scarper/MOB) United Kingdom

The lads have been meddling with everything breakbeat since the early 90s. Matt Welch is a classically trained violinist since the age of 4 and holds a Masters in Music. The other Hooligan and Turntablist / Dj extraordinaire Terry Ryan is a graduate of the School of Audio engineering and has been spinning the decks since he discovered body hair. Their partnership which began in a club naturally, is inspiring and their brotherhood is reflected in their attitude towards music which is a new and refreshing one, they simply refuse to follow the path already walked! Evil Breaks is proud to have Terry Hooligan here in San Francisco for a show that is sure to be a memorable one.

Downbeat 005 - Pete Samplers + Mando From MASS

New talent added to the Downbeat camp comes in the form of two deranged misfits of audio science, Pete Samplers and Mando from MASS.These guys have a sound all their own and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome of the tunes below!

A: Slotmachine
Clip
http://downbeatproductions.com/samplers/slotmachine.mp3

This cut starts off with a long clean intro complete with rolling breaks and big stabs for maximum mixing. It rides along with just about any tune due to it being simple but effective! As it drives foward a line of bass risses and the breakdown is at hand. Don't hold your breath though, it's a short sneaky section of bass before the real body shows itself in true tearout form. Razor sharp switches in the breaks complete with jaw-dropping vicious strikes of bass that'll cripple instantly. This one's totally mental!! As the tune goes on, it continues to swtich up between b-lines until you hit the second breakdown which is a mish mash section of beat programing that pushes the next drop completely into a frenzy, keeping it dirty and going straight for the jugular!!

AA: 1 Arm Bandit
Clip
http://downbeatproductions.com/samplers/1armbandit.mp3

Deep, floaty, atmospheric synths and a strange but unique clangy beat starts this one off before making a mental connection with the darkness. A rising synth comes in and booms into the body with huge huge bass thumps, dirty licks and a rolling tear out drum pattern that's sure to make any floor rise up and get down! Loads of cool background noise, big bass stabs and sick beat editing makes this one purely heavy and driving for the headstrong!

Support:
Quest / Backdraft / Ctrlz / Breaks FM / Cause N FX / Dirty South / The BreakFastaz / Distortionz / Napt / Pyrotechnic Radio / GBX / Mutiny / Mike Hogan / Unstable

Dist: Z-Audio
Zac@zaudio.co.uk

Whites are in, full release date june 9th!!

BROOKLYN BASS w/ DJ QUEST & MADAME MERCURY Sat 5/28!

NYC BREAKS, AUDIO TACTICS & HYPERKAT-PRODUCTIONS PRESENT...

BROOKLYN BASS SERIES: 01

Saturday - May 28, 2005

DJ QUEST

Cyberfunk, Rat Records, Pulse Records - UK
Hailing from West London, DJ Quest is a name synonymous with Breakbeat/Nu Skool. Since 1994 at 15 years of age Quest found the turntable. However his production career never really started until the garage explosion in 1997/98. Due to his love for Drum and Bass he could never understand the heavy vocal lead garage sound that was fast taking over as the dominant scene in London. His frustration at hearing garage tunes with weak basslines and snares that sounded like hi hats prompted him to make a tune at a garage tempo that had a more heavier lean onto Drum and bass but still retaining the funk and soul that garage seemed to have the upper hand on the time. Starting off with his first label, Pulse Recordings, it was him and his brother who were making tunes and through not thinking any one would like their stuff they played it to a few friends who DJed in the local garage clubs, and who subsequently liked their tunes and cut them and found to be that the ravers really liked it. From this, they thought 'what the hell' and started up their own label. With early tracks such as Rumble, Warship and Egypt (produced with MC Ken Mac) receiving a diversity of support from people like EZ through to Tayo through to Hybrid, DJ Quest's vision of this new sound was starting to finally be realised and alongside like minded producers at the time like Deekline, Stanton Warriors, Zinc etc this new sound was fast becoming popular not just in London but around the world. Following on from his pulse releases, Quest also released classics on labels like Rat Records such as "Old Skool" (produced with kalibre and following on from that have been most notably his album on Rat Records entitled Rat Sessions Vol 1), He also has come to record for some of the most popular and respected labels in the business including Mechanoise, Supercharged, Botchitand Scarper, hardcore beats, cyberfunk, funkatech, wireframe, pulse, sinewave the list is endless. His main project, his label Cyberfunk is one of the biggest in the breaks scene. Responsible for numerous anthems it has also made some of the stars that the scene has come to love such as Mutiny, Breakfastaz, Odissi, Baobinga and MC Ken Mac. And if running a label wasn't enough, he is involved in a partner in one of London's biggest bi weekly events "breaks and mortar". This night has become one of the most in places in the Uk to hear all the latest music in the breaks scene...On top of the label / DJing and the club night, he is also involved in one of the biggest information centre's for breakbeat... www.breakbeatworldwide.com since its nception back in August 2004 has proven to be the main place for anything breaks related including the latest dubs, news etc from all the key scene playas.

MADAME MERCURY

Mad Wax, Streetbeat, NYC Breaks - SF/NYC
Madame Mercury has been involved in the San Francisco underground dance music scene since 1996. She has a passion for breaks and has been supporting them since her professional debut. Madame Mercury discovered her love for funky break beats and electro dancing at the raves of the mid 1990’s admiring the likes of DJ Dan, Simply Jeff, DJ Voodoo, Uberzone and Icey as well as San Francisco’s own local underground breaks DJs. She took this admiration and taught herself how to spin as well as coordinating with her Liquid Mercury group to produce events focusing on the breakbeat sound. After almost 10 years holdin’ it down as one of the premier breakbeat DJs in San Francisco - playing along side some of the same artists that inspired her in the very beginning - Miss Mercury is now a local resident to New York City, and is set to unleash her sound on the Big Apple.
